The dream
When I fell asleep last night,
I dreamt of you and me.
I dreamt of all the things we’ve shared,
I dreamt of all we’ll be.
And in this dream of mine.
I dreamt of a beautiful life.
I dreamt of a life less ordinary,
I dreamt I was your wife.
I dreamt we had a child,
A beautiful little son.
And you looked at me and smiled,
Over our godsent little one.
In this dream I saw forever,
And the joy that it would bring.
I’d love to be your queen,
If you would be my king.
And as I slept,
I hugged my pillow very tight,
As I do, when I dream of you,
(Which is almost every night)
And when I woke, I laid there,
Very still in bed.
And pondered over this strange dream,
Which still was fresh inside my head.
I thought this dream would scare me,
And it does, in a way.
To think I’ve found the "ONE",
At 18, anyway.
But our love could never scare me,
And I guess that I was wrong.
Because within you, I have found,
A love to last a whole life long.
